Hey builders! 👋

Sorry I didn’t send an update last week. I took some time off with my family over the school holidays.

It’s been an interesting period of introspection and I ended up writing about how I’m feeling…It’s unusual for me to discuss my feelings (yes, I’m male!) let alone write them down, but it felt good. I’ve long been a believer that vulnerability leads to vulnerability, so here’s hoping it’s meaningful to you.

Changing pace, it was fun to collaborate with Ali Pinch again. We used to work together in Conversational AI at Australia’s largest retailer, WooliesX. In our second guest builder post Ali shares how she went from idea to working recipe website in less than a day! It’s awesome to see her curiosity and how she applied tips from the last newsletter with Ravi Mehta’s data-driven prototyping.

I’m going to set a more realistic target of posting roughly once per week (daily is far too ambitious!) and moving to either a fortnightly or monthly newsletter. Deep in my self-reflection I acknowledged that I’d spent too much time on How I Build when I should have been spending more time on my main startup, lit spelling. I’ve made great progress in the last week and I’m excited to share more soon.
